Mini Fridge: How to Choose a Fridge for Your Room
The short answer: a 46–50 liter (1.6–1.8 cu ft) mini fridge with a compressor costs about ₪370–610 (NIS) based on store prices, fits a cube of about 46–48 cm (18–19 in), and suits drinks, milk and snacks in a bedroom, small office or guest room. We hardly found a real new mini fridge for up to ₪300; the cheapest offer we saw was about ₪350 at an online price.
We did not physically test the fridges. This guide is based on specs from model pages and prices we saw at Israeli stores in November 2026. Models in this category are very similar to one another, so the differences that matter are the actual price, annual electricity use, defrost type, door direction and warranty.
The short answer
Refrigerators, November 2026- 46–50 liters
- About 46–48 × 46–49 × 44–49 cm
- About ₪350–610
- About 5 liters, for ice only
- Manual (Defrost)
- About 80–140 kWh a year
- One year, per the importer’s certificate
Models worth checking
Picked on specs, Israeli importer warranty and shop prices in Israel in November 2026. We did not test them at home. Prices change, check before you buy.
Premier PR50
50-liter mini fridge, freezer compartment of about 5 liters, reversible door, energy rating F per one offer
Why: Per the model page on Zap (an Israeli price comparison site), it’s a 50-liter mini fridge sold at 11 stores from about ₪370, and some offers list an official importer and a one-year warranty.
Watch out: Dimensions and electricity use aren’t detailed on the page, and the F rating per one offer is low; ask the seller for the kWh figure.
WES-1051W
Mini bar 46 liters net, 47.5 × 48.8 × 44.2 cm, rating E, 80 kWh per year, manual defrost, small freezer compartment
Why: Per the product page, the stated consumption is 80 kWh a year, the lowest among the mini fridges whose specs we checked, and the online price was about ₪350.
Watch out: Sold at only one chain among those we checked, the in-store price is higher, and importer and warranty details don’t appear on the page.
GoldLine BC-50
50-liter mini fridge, 46 × 46 × 49 cm, freezer compartment for ice cubes
Why: Per the model page it’s only 46 cm high, one of the lowest in the category, and it’s sold at eight stores. One offer states it’s approved for Shabbat use by a halachic institute.
Watch out: The model page doesn’t list an importer or warranty, and some offers are pickup only. We didn’t verify the Shabbat approval with the institute.
Fujicom FJ-DF46L
Mini fridge 46 liters net, 48 × 49 × 45 cm, manual defrost, rating E, climate class T
Why: Per the model page it’s marked climate class T, suited to hot climates, and it’s only 45 cm deep.
Watch out: Importer and warranty details don’t appear on the model page; confirm them in the offer you choose.
Hyundai HARF50L
50-liter mini fridge, about 45 liters cooling and 5 liters freezing, reversible door, manual defrost
Why: Per the model page it’s sold at 12 stores, the door is reversible, and one offer lists a one-year warranty from the official importer.
Watch out: The energy rating is inconsistent between offers (A or F), and there’s no kWh figure; don’t rely on the rating without checking the label.
Prices in Israel: Refrigerators
46–50 liters with a compressor and a small ice compartment; suits a teenager’s room or guest room. Look for a sale and skip choosing a color.
The same size, usually with a reversible door, a choice of colors and an offer from an official importer with a one-year warranty; this is the range where most models sell.
90–99 liters at a height of about 85 cm, with a top freezer compartment; for anyone who needs space for meals, not just drinks.
Price ranges seen in Israeli shops and price-comparison sites in November 2026, VAT included, usually without installation.
What to look at before buying
| What to check | What it is | Our recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Real capacity | Most mini fridges are listed as 50 liters, but some state 45–46 liters net, and 5 liters of that is the freezer compartment. | Think about 40–45 usable liters: about 30–40 cans, or a few water bottles alongside milk and yogurts. If you need more, jump to 90 liters. |
| Dimensions | A mini fridge is a cube: the GoldLine BC-50 is 46 × 46 × 49 cm and the Fujicom FJ-DF46L is 48 × 49 × 45 cm per the model pages. | Measure the space and add a few cm at the back and top for ventilation. A 49 cm mini fridge fits easily under a regular desk (about 72–75 cm high). |
| Compressor | A real mini fridge works with a compressor, like a regular fridge. Smaller, cheaper coolers sometimes work thermoelectrically and cool less. | For cold drinks in an Israeli summer, choose a compressor model. A product costing a few tens of shekels sold as a cosmetics fridge or electric cool box isn’t a mini fridge. |
| Electricity use | There’s a big gap between models: the Westin WES-1051W is rated at 80 kWh a year, and the Gold Line BC-50B at 0.38 kWh per day, i.e. about 140 a year. | Look for a kWh per year or per day figure on the product page. The difference between 80 and 140 kWh adds up over years of continuous operation. |
| Reversible door | On some models you can move the door hinge to the other side, so it opens into the room rather than against the wall. | If the fridge will stand against a wall or bed, confirm on the model page that the door is reversible. The Premier PR50 and Hyundai HARF50L offers list this. |
| Importer and warranty | Mini fridges are also sold by third-party sellers without warranty details. The price difference between such an offer and one from an official importer is sometimes only tens of shekels. | Prefer an offer that lists an official importer (yevuan rasmi) and a one-year warranty. On a ₪400–600 product, a repair without warranty is hardly worth it. |
What is a mini fridge and who is it for?
A mini fridge is a 46–50 liter cube fridge under 50 cm (20 in) tall, suited to drinks, milk for coffee and snacks, not to a household’s food.
In stores it goes by several names: mini fridge, mini bar, cube fridge or room fridge. They’re all the same product: a box about 46–48 cm wide, 46–49 cm high and 44–49 cm deep, with a compressor, a shelf or two, door shelves and a small compartment for ice cubes.
When a mini fridge is the right choice:
- A teenager’s or student’s room at home, for drinks and snacks.
- A study or clinic, for milk for coffee and water bottles.
- A guest room or guest unit, so guests don’t have to go into the kitchen.
- A covered balcony or barbecue corner, for cold drinks in summer.
When it’s not enough: if you need to store meals, weekly shopping or frozen food, a 50-liter mini fridge will fill up fast. A 90–99 liter office fridge with a top freezer compartment costs only a few hundred shekels more, and someone living alone already needs a small 120–200 liter fridge with a real freezer. We explain the differences between the three types in our small fridge guide.
What about a fridge for an adult’s bedroom? It’s possible, but here noise becomes the first question, not price. We cover that below.
Before you search, answer two questions: what will you keep in it, and where exactly will it stand. If the answer is drinks and snacks, and you have a 50 × 50 cm cube with clearance behind, you’re in the right place.
A mini fridge for up to ₪300: what you can really get
A new mini fridge with a compressor for up to ₪300 hardly exists; based on store prices in November 2026, the cheapest offers we saw start at about ₪350–370, and most models sell for ₪400–600.
The lowest prices we saw:
- Westin WES-1051W: about ₪350 at an online price at one chain, and about ₪500 in-store.
- Premier PR50: from about ₪370 up to about ₪490, at 11 stores.
- GoldLine BC-50: from about ₪400 up to about ₪610.
- Fujicom FJ-DF46L: from about ₪410 up to about ₪550.
So what sells for ₪300? Usually one of three things:
- A sale or display item: a regular mini fridge at a discount, sometimes without delivery or in open packaging. That’s fine, as long as there’s a warranty.
- Second-hand: mini fridges are sold second-hand a lot, especially at the end of the school year. Check that the compressor works, there’s no smell and the door seal closes properly.
- A thermoelectric cooler or cosmetics fridge: 4–20 liter products without a compressor. They cool a few degrees below room temperature, and in an Israeli summer that’s not enough for truly cold drinks.
What the gap really costs: the difference between ₪300 and ₪400 is about ₪100, and part of it comes back in electricity if you choose a low-consumption model. If the budget is tight, wait for a sale on a model with a compressor and warranty, rather than buying a cooler that won’t do the job.
Delivery: with the cheap offers, delivery isn’t always included. A 12–18 kg (26–40 lb) mini fridge fits in a private car, so self-pickup can save the delivery fee. Transport it upright, and if it was lying down, let it stand for a few hours before plugging it in.
Mini fridge dimensions: where will it fit
A mini fridge takes up a cube of about 46–48 cm wide, 46–49 cm high and 44–49 cm deep, plus a few centimeters at the back for ventilation.
Dimensions from the model pages:
- GoldLine BC-50: 46 × 46 × 49 cm (width × height × depth).
- Fujicom FJ-DF46L: 48 × 49 × 45 cm.
- Westin WES-1051W: 47.5 × 48.8 × 44.2 cm.
- Hyundai HARF50L: about 47 cm wide and 49 cm high per one offer.
Under a desk: a regular desk is about 72–75 cm high, so a 46–49 cm mini fridge fits underneath with room left for ventilation. But don’t box it in on all sides: the compressor and coil at the back release heat, and a fridge enclosed without airflow works harder.
On a cabinet or dresser: possible, if the surface is stable and level and can carry the weight. A mini fridge weighs about 12–18 kg empty, and a few more kilograms with drinks. Vibration on a shaky surface increases noise.
Door direction: in a narrow spot next to a wall or bed, a door that opens the wrong way blocks access to the shelves. For the Premier PR50, Hyundai HARF50L and GoldLine BC-50 (in its color versions), offers list a reversible door. If it matters, confirm before ordering.
Interior height: because the overall height is under 50 cm, a 1.5-liter bottle usually stands only in the door or on the bottom shelf. If you’re buying for drinks in large bottles, count how many such spots there are.
And in a room with small children: place the fridge so they can’t climb on it, and make sure the cable doesn’t run across a walkway.
The freezer compartment in a mini fridge: what it can do
The freezer compartment in a mini fridge is a compartment of about 5 liters for ice cubes, not a freezer; it’s not suitable for storing meat, chicken or frozen meals long term.
Per the model pages, the Hyundai HARF50L and Homex mini fridges split into about 45 liters of cooling and 5 liters of freezing, and some Premier PR50 offers list a 5-liter compartment. With Westin and Gold Line it’s a small compartment at the top.
Why it’s not a real freezer: the compartment sits inside the cooling compartment, without a separate insulated door. Its temperature depends on the whole fridge’s thermostat setting and on how often the main door is opened. To make the compartment freeze well, you have to set the fridge colder, and then the top shelves may freeze.
What does suit the compartment: an ice tray, a small bag of ice, an ice pop or two for a short time.
What doesn’t: frozen meat and chicken, ready meals for the week, or ice cream for days.
Defrosting: all the mini fridges we picked are listed with manual defrost. In practice, ice builds up around the freezer compartment. When the layer reaches about half a centimeter, take out the contents, unplug, put a towel underneath and wait for the ice to melt. A thick ice layer raises electricity use and reduces space.
If you need real freezing: a 90–99 liter office fridge with a top freezer compartment, like the Premier PR92G, gives a separate freezer door of about 25 liters net per one offer. And for anyone who mainly lacks freezer space, there are small standalone freezers.
A mini fridge for a room: noise, placement and summer
In a bedroom, place the mini fridge as far from the bed as possible, on a stable surface, with clearance behind, and ask the seller for the noise figure before buying.
Noise: a compressor mini fridge hums when the compressor runs, and clicks when it switches on and off. At night, in a quiet room, that’s noticeable. None of the model pages we read state a noise level in decibels; offers only say “quiet compressor”. So we have no data-based way to recommend one model as quieter than another.
What you can do:
- Place the fridge on the other side of the room, not near your head.
- Level it: vibration on an uneven floor or rug increases noise.
- Leave a few centimeters between the back and the wall, so the wall doesn’t resonate.
- Don’t squeeze it between furniture.
Summer: in a room without AC, the temperature in an Israeli summer rises above 30°C (86°F), and the compressor will run almost continuously. That increases noise and consumption. A fridge marked climate class T, like the Fujicom FJ-DF46L per its model page, is designed to work in a hot environment too. Keep the fridge away from a west-facing window and from a radiator in winter.
Medicines: don’t store medicines that need a precise temperature in a mini fridge without a thermometer. With a mechanical thermostat the temperature is less stable, especially in a hot room.
Shabbat: mini fridges have a mechanical thermostat and an interior light, with no display. Shabbat observers should check whether the light can be disconnected and consult their rabbi. One offer for the GoldLine BC-50 states Shabbat approval from a halachic institute, but we didn’t see the certificate itself.
Electricity use and warranty on a mini fridge
Per the product pages, a mini fridge uses about 80–140 kWh a year, and the gap between models is bigger than the price difference; check the figure before choosing.
The numbers: the Westin WES-1051W is rated at 80 kWh a year with an E rating. The Gold Line BC-50B is rated at 0.38 kWh per day, about 140 kWh a year. On some models, like the Premier PR50 and Hyundai HARF50L, the page has no kWh figure at all, and the energy rating isn’t consistent between offers.
What it means in money: a fridge runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. By our estimate, at the current residential rate the difference between 80 and 140 kWh is a few tens of shekels a year. Over five years that approaches the price difference between models.
Why a mini fridge doesn’t save as much as it seems: it uses less than a family fridge, but per liter it’s less efficient. A 344-liter bottom-freezer fridge uses 254 kWh a year per its specs, 7 times the volume and only 2–3 times the consumption. If you’re torn between two mini fridges and one larger fridge, the latter is more economical.
Warranty: on offers that list an official importer, the warranty is one year. On a ₪400–600 product, a paid technician call will cost a large part of the fridge’s price, so the cheapest offer without warranty isn’t always the cheapest. Also check whether service comes to your home or you have to bring the fridge to a lab.
Connection: to a grounded wall outlet, not a power strip with a computer and other devices. (Israel runs on 230V/50Hz; a US 110V mini fridge won’t work here without a transformer.) On first use, let it run empty for a few hours before putting in drinks.
A mini fridge by location: teen room, clinic, guest room and balcony
The same mini fridge is used in many places, but in each one a different question decides: in a teen room, price and safety; in a clinic, cleanliness and temperature; in a guest room, noise; and on a balcony, heat and dust.
A teenager’s room: the mini fridge fills mainly with cans and snacks. Here it’s worth choosing the cheap model with a warranty, placing it on the floor rather than on a tall dresser, and explaining that the door must be closed all the way. A door left open all night defrosts the ice compartment and leaves a puddle.
A clinic, treatment room or home office: milk for coffee, water and sometimes a small meal. Clean it weekly, because a small fridge that’s opened a lot picks up odors fast. If you keep products in it that need a precise temperature, put a simple thermometer inside and check it occasionally. In an office where more than three or four people bring food, 50 liters won’t be enough, and a 90-liter office fridge will save arguments.
A guest room or guest unit: guests sleep next to it, so noise is the first consideration. Place it in the corner farthest from the bed, and if possible behind the door of a small room or kitchenette. Leave water and soft drinks inside, so guests don’t need to go to the kitchen at night.
A covered balcony or barbecue corner: a mini fridge isn’t designed to stand outside, in sun and rain. If it’s on an enclosed, covered balcony, make sure the outlet is protected, the fridge isn’t in direct sun, and there’s ventilation clearance. In summer the compressor will work hard, so a climate class T fridge is better.
Next to the bed of an elderly or sick person: ease of access matters: a mini fridge on a stable surface at table height saves bending. Make sure the door opens the right way and there’s room to put a cup nearby.
In all locations: don’t connect the fridge to a long extension cord running across a walkway, and don’t put hot appliances like a kettle or toaster on top: their heat warms the fridge’s wall and burdens the compressor, and steam collects on the top surface.
How many mini fridges at home? If you’re considering a second or third mini fridge, for example for another room, stop for a moment. Each one uses another 80–140 kWh a year and needs defrosting. One 90-liter office fridge in a central spot will hold more than two mini fridges, need one defrost instead of two, and take one outlet.
How to prepare a new mini fridge for use: remove all the packaging and films from the shelves, wipe the interior with water and a little soap or baking soda, wait a few hours if it was transported lying down, plug it in, set the dial to the middle and let it run empty for a few hours. After a day, check with a thermometer that the inside is about 4–5°C (39–41°F), and adjust as needed.
The bottom line: which mini fridge to buy
For a room and drinks, buy a 46–50 liter mini fridge with a compressor at about ₪370–610, prefer an offer from an official importer and a model with a low kWh figure, and don’t expect a real freezer compartment.
- The lowest budget: Premier PR50, from about ₪370, or Westin WES-1051W at an online price of about ₪350.
- The lowest consumption we found: Westin WES-1051W, 80 kWh a year per the product page.
- A particularly low space: GoldLine BC-50, 46 cm high.
- A hot room without AC: Fujicom FJ-DF46L, climate class T.
- Against a wall or bed: Hyundai HARF50L or Premier PR50, with a reversible door.
When to skip a mini fridge: if you need room for meals or real freezing, buy a 90–99 liter office fridge. If you’re storing wine rather than soft drinks, a wine fridge keeps a higher, more stable temperature. And if it’s the only fridge in the home, you need a kitchen fridge: see our cheap fridge guide and the recommendations in our best refrigerator guide.
What not to do: buy a thermoelectric cooler to save ₪100, put a mini fridge inside a closed cabinet, or store frozen meat in the ice compartment.
The bottom line
Capacity: 46–50 liters. Dimensions: About 46–48 × 46–49 × 44–49 cm.

FAQ: mini fridge Israel
How much does a mini fridge cost in Israel?
Based on store prices in November 2026, a 46–50 liter mini fridge with a compressor costs about ₪350–610. Most models sell for ₪400–600, and a 90–99 liter office fridge costs about ₪580–800.
Is there a mini fridge for up to ₪300?
New, with a compressor and warranty, we hardly found one. The cheapest offer we saw was about ₪350 at an online price. At ₪300 you’ll usually find a one-off sale, a second-hand product or a small thermoelectric cooler that cools less.
What are the dimensions of a mini fridge?
Per the model pages, about 46–48 cm wide, 46–49 cm high and 44–49 cm deep. For example, the GoldLine BC-50 is 46 × 46 × 49 cm. Add a few centimeters at the back for ventilation.
What’s the difference between a mini fridge and an office fridge?
A mini fridge is a cube of about 50 liters under 50 cm tall, with a small ice compartment. An office fridge is about 90–99 liters and about 85 cm tall, usually with a larger top freezer compartment, and costs a few hundred shekels more.
How much electricity does a mini fridge use?
Per the product pages, about 80–140 kWh a year. The Westin WES-1051W is rated at 80 kWh, and the Gold Line BC-50B at 0.38 kWh per day, about 140 a year. On some models the figure isn’t listed, and it’s worth asking for it.
Is a mini fridge suitable for a bedroom?
Yes, if you place it away from the bed, on a level surface and with clearance behind. Israeli model pages don’t state decibels, so anyone sensitive to noise should ask the seller for the figure.
Can I freeze food in a mini fridge?
Not long term. The freezer compartment is about 5 liters inside the fridge, without a separate insulated door, and suits ice cubes. For frozen food you need a fridge with a separate freezer door or a freezer.
Why does a mini fridge need defrosting?
Because defrost on mini fridges is manual, and ice builds up around the freezer compartment. When the layer reaches about half a centimeter, unplug and wait for it to melt; a thick layer raises consumption and reduces space.
Is it worth buying a second-hand mini fridge?
It can be worthwhile, since mini fridges are cheap and usually weren’t used heavily. Check that the compressor cools within about an hour, there’s no smell, the seal closes, and remember there’s no warranty.
Is there a mini fridge with Shabbat mode?
Mini fridges usually have a mechanical thermostat and an interior light, without an electronic Shabbat mode. One offer for the GoldLine BC-50 states approval from a halachic institute, but we didn’t see the certificate; check with the seller and your rabbi.
