Bosch Ovens: Which Model and Series to Choose

Updated November 6, 2026. Written by Binyamin Elkalay. Compared on specs and Israeli shop prices, no lab testing.

Short answer: almost every Bosch built-in oven in Israel is ⁦60 cm⁩ and 71 liters, and the difference between the series is mainly cleaning, programs and display. A basic Bosch oven with EcoClean coating costs about ₪⁦1,730–2,990⁩ (NIS), a pyrolytic Bosch oven from Series 2 starts at about ₪1,950, Series 6 with Air Fry costs about ₪⁦2,360–4,090,⁩ and Series 8 with a touchscreen and app costs about ₪⁦4,000–6,500.⁩ On the models we checked, Shabbat mode does not appear in the spec.

This guide is based on product pages in Israeli stores and price comparisons in November 2026. We did not test the ovens physically, and we have no commercial relationship with Bosch or its importer: we compare specs, prices and warranty.

What to look at before buying

What to checkWhat it isOur recommendation
SeriesBosch splits its ovens into Series 2, 4, 6 and 8. The higher the number, the more programs, the more advanced the display and usually pyrolytic cleaning. For most families Series 4 or 6 is enough. Series 8 is worth it only if you will use the automatic programs and the app.
Cleaning methodEcoClean is a coating on the back wall that absorbs grease. Pyrolytic heats the cavity to about 480°C and burns the dirt to ash.If you bake several times a week, take pyrolytic. At Bosch it starts as early as Series 2, on the HBA571BB4.
Air FryA heating mode that imitates an air fryer, with a dedicated tray.Present per the spec on the HBG536EW4, HBG578EB3 and HBG7741B1. On Series 8 the tray is sold separately, per the store page.
AutoPilot programsAutomatic programs that pick temperature and heating mode by type of food.10 programs are enough for most. 30 programs, as on the HBG578EB3, suit anyone who cooks a wide variety.
Shabbat modeA program that lets you leave the oven running on Shabbat per a halachic institute's guidelines. The HBG7741B1 product page says Shabbat control: none, and on the other models we checked it is not mentioned. Shabbat observers should check other brands.
Niche dimensionsThe cavity in the cabinet the oven goes into.Per the product pages, ⁦60 cm⁩ Bosch ovens need a niche of about ⁦56–⁦56.8 cm⁩⁩ wide, ⁦58.5–⁦59.5 cm⁩⁩ high and ⁦55 cm⁩ deep.
WarrantyThe official warranty is provided by BSH, the importer of Bosch and Siemens.Make sure the product page says official importer BSH. The BSH group offers an extension to 3 years for ₪199, where the two extra years are a limited warranty.

Why are Bosch ovens so common in Israel?

Bosch ovens are common in Israel mainly because of range and availability: the price comparison page lists more than 140 Bosch oven models, many of them sold in 30 stores or more, with a long-established official importer.

The official importer of Bosch in Israel is BSH, the same group that also imports Siemens. Store product pages usually say official importer BSH, and the warranty is given per the BSH warranty certificate. This matters with a built-in oven, because a repair sometimes requires taking the oven out of the niche, and a technician who knows the model plus available spare parts save time.

What you get in every Bosch built-in oven, almost regardless of series:

  • A width of ⁦60 cm⁩ and a capacity of 71 liters, which suits a family of ⁦4–5.⁩
  • 3D convection, which lets you bake on several racks at once.
  • External dimensions of about ⁦59.4 cm⁩ wide, ⁦59.5 cm⁩ high and ⁦54.8 cm⁩ deep, per the product pages.
  • A standard niche, so in most cases you can replace an old Bosch oven with a new one without changing the cabinet.

What changes between models: the cleaning method (EcoClean or pyrolytic), the number of heating modes and automatic programs, Air Fry, the maximum temperature (275 or 300°C), the type of display and app connectivity.

Where Bosch fits less well: if you keep Shabbat. The product page of the Bosch Series 8 oven, HBG7741B1, explicitly says Shabbat control: none, and on the pages of the other models we checked Shabbat mode is not mentioned at all. In that case it is better to choose a brand that shows a halachic institute's approval for the model, like some Sauter models. We cover them in our built-in oven guide.

If you are equipping a whole kitchen from the same importer, it is also worth checking our Bosch dishwasher guide. Some stores offer a bundle discount on an oven, cooktop and dishwasher, and warranty and service come from the same place.

Bosch Series 2, 4, 6 or 8: what is the difference?

The difference between Bosch oven series is mainly the number of programs, the display and the cleaning method; capacity and dimensions are almost identical across all series.

Per the product pages of the models we checked:

  • Series 2 (HBA571BB4): 71 liters, pyrolytic cleaning, 10 AutoPilot programs, up to 275°C. A pleasant surprise: pyrolytic already in the basic series.
  • Series 4 (HBA534EB3, per some listings): 71 liters, 3D convection, ⁦7–8⁩ heating modes, EcoClean Direct coating and up to 275°C. No pyrolytic and no Air Fry.
  • Series 6 (HBG536EW4 and HBG578EB3): ⁦8–10⁩ heating modes including Air Fry, ⁦10–30⁩ AutoPilot programs. The HBG578EB3 has pyrolytic cleaning at 480°C, and the HBG536EW4 has only EcoClean.
  • Series 8 (HBG7741B1): 14 heating modes, a temperature of ⁦30–300⁩°C, a TFT touchscreen with a digital control ring, Home Connect and pyrolytic.

What is worth paying for:

  • Pyrolytic: usually worth it if you use the oven several times a week. The difference between the HBA534EB3 and the HBA571BB4 is usually a few hundred shekels.
  • Air Fry: worth it if you use an air fryer today and want to clear counter space. If not, it is a bonus.
  • Series 8: suits anyone who will really use low-temperature cooking, phone control and the precise programs. For most families Series 6 gives most of the advantages at half the price.

Bosch Series 8: what else is there? On the comparison page we also saw the Series 8 HBG7341B1, a 71-liter oven starting at about ₪3,500, and the CMG7241B1, a compact oven with microwave for a tall cabinet starting at about ₪5,300. We did not check these models in depth, so they are not on the list.

Tip: do not rely only on the letters in the model code to identify the series. Check the series name on the product page or the importer's website.

Pyrolytic or EcoClean: which cleaning to choose in a Bosch oven?

Pyrolytic cleans the whole cavity without scrubbing and is better for anyone who bakes a lot; EcoClean is a coating that absorbs grease only on the back wall and suits anyone who uses the oven occasionally.

EcoClean Direct: per the HBA534EB3 product page, it is a catalytic coating on the back wall that absorbs grease and breaks it down during baking. It helps, but the door, floor and side walls still need wiping by hand. The HBG536EW4 works on the same principle.

Pyrolytic: the oven locks the door and heats to about 480°C, per the HBG578EB3 and HBG7741B1 product pages, and the grease turns to ash that you wipe off with a damp cloth. The HBG7741B1 also lists hydrolytic cleaning, a kind of steam-assisted clean for light dirt.

How much does it cost? A pyrolytic cycle lasts about one to three hours, and it uses electricity. The maximum power of the Bosch Series 8 oven is 3,600 watts per the store page, but the oven does not run at full power through the whole cycle. In practice it is a few kWh per cycle, meaning a few shekels. This is a rough estimate, not a manufacturer figure. If you run pyrolytic once every month or two, it is negligible.

Kashrut: on the Bosch product page we saw no reference to kashering after pyrolytic cleaning. On models from other brands, like the AEG ABA55411M, a halachic institute's approval for switching between meat and dairy after pyrolytic cleaning is stated. If this matters to you, we cover it in our pyrolytic oven guide.

What about accessories? Before pyrolytic cleaning, take out the trays and rails that are not designed for that heat. Check in the manual which accessories are heat-resistant.

The recommendation: if you are between the HBA534EB3 and the HBA571BB4, and the difference for you is up to a few hundred shekels, pyrolytic will give you years of easy cleaning. If the final price of the basic oven is significantly lower, EcoClean with regular wiping works great.

How to care for an EcoClean oven: wipe the floor and door after greasy baking, while the oven is still warm. Do not scrub the coated wall with a scouring pad or abrasive cleaner, because that damages its ability to absorb grease. Now and then run the oven empty at high temperature per the manufacturer's instructions, so the coating breaks down what it absorbed. A tray at the bottom of the cavity during greasy roasting saves a lot of work.

How much does a Bosch oven cost in Israel?

A Bosch built-in oven costs about ₪⁦1,730–6,500⁩ in Israel: basic models start at about ₪1,730, pyrolytic from about ₪1,950, Series 6 with Air Fry at about ₪⁦2,360–4,090,⁩ and Series 8 at about ₪⁦4,000–6,500.⁩

What we saw on price comparison pages and in stores in November 2026:

  • HBA534EB3 (EcoClean, 71 liters): about ₪⁦1,730–2,990.⁩
  • HBA571BB4 (Series 2, pyrolytic): about ₪⁦1,950–2,990,⁩ with most stores between about ₪2,100 and ₪2,700.
  • HBG536EW4 (Series 6, white, Air Fry): about ₪⁦2,570–3,180.⁩
  • HBG578EB3 (Series 6, pyrolytic, Air Fry): about ₪⁦2,360–4,090.⁩
  • HBG7741B1 (Series 8): on the comparison page prices started at about ₪3,970, and in the stores we checked directly we saw about ₪⁦5,590–6,070.⁩

Why is the gap so large? On the exact same model we saw differences of ₪⁦1,000–2,500⁩ between stores. Part of the difference comes from the color version (on Series 8, for example, the white W1 version appeared at higher prices than the black B1), part from display models, and part from each store's pricing policy. Before buying:

  • Make sure the full model code is identical, including the suffix.
  • Check that the seller is an official importer or an authorized BSH dealer.
  • Compare the final price including delivery, carrying up to your floor and installation.
  • Ask whether it is a display model.

What is not included: installation in the niche and the electrical connection. The Bosch Series 8 oven draws up to 3,600 watts per the store page and comes with a plug, but a separate 16 A line for the oven is recommended, not shared with the dishwasher or an induction cooktop. If the kitchen wiring is old, call an electrician.

When to buy? On Bosch ovens we saw recurring offers on the product pages: warranty extensions, bundle discounts and installment payments. We have no organized data on seasonal pricing, so we will not promise that waiting for a particular holiday pays off. What does work: choose a model, follow it for a few days on a price comparison page, and buy when the price drops to the lower part of the range at a seller marked as official importer. On models like the HBA571BB4, where most stores cluster between about ₪2,100 and ₪2,700, a price far below that is a reason to check whether it is a display model or a parallel import.

Warranty, service and parallel import for Bosch ovens

With a Bosch oven it is better to buy from the official importer, because warranty and service are provided by BSH, and the group offers an extension to three years for an extra ₪199.

What the product pages say: most listings for the Bosch ovens we checked say official importer BSH, and some say one-year warranty per the BSH warranty certificate. On the Siemens Israel website, run by the same group, a three-year warranty is offered for an extra ₪199 on ovens, dishwashers, washing machines and induction cooktops. Per the explanation on the site, the first year is free by law, and the two extra years are a limited warranty per the warranty certificate. Registering the product on the site gives, per the site, an extra month of warranty.

Is the extension worth it? On a ₪2,000 oven, ₪199 is about 10% of the price. On a pyrolytic oven or a Series 8 oven with a touchscreen and electronics, a single control board fault can cost more than that. Read the extension terms before deciding.

Parallel import (yevu makbil): some stores sell Bosch ovens not through the official importer, sometimes at a lower price. The downsides: the warranty is the seller's and not BSH's, the menus may be in another language, and with a fault you may wait a long time for a part. If you buy that way, ask in writing who repairs it and how fast.

Before calling a technician:

  • Check that the breaker in the electrical panel has not tripped.
  • Make sure the clock is set: on some digital ovens, the oven will not work after a power outage until you set the time.
  • Check that the child lock is not active.
  • On a pyrolytic oven, the door stays locked until the cavity cools, and that is normal.

If the fault continues, contact BSH service with the full model code and the invoice. Do not use an outside technician during the warranty, because opening the oven by someone unauthorized can affect eligibility for free repair.

Installation and niche dimensions for a Bosch oven

A ⁦60 cm⁩ Bosch oven needs, per the product pages, a niche of about ⁦56–⁦56.8 cm⁩⁩ wide, ⁦58.5–⁦59.5 cm⁩⁩ high and ⁦55 cm⁩ deep, so it replaces most standard built-in ovens without changing the cabinet.

Examples from the product pages:

  • HBG578EB3: the oven is 59.4×59.5×⁦54.8 cm⁩, niche ⁦56.4 cm⁩ wide, ⁦59 cm⁩ high and ⁦55 cm⁩ deep.
  • HBG7741B1: a niche of ⁦56–⁦56.8 cm⁩⁩ wide, ⁦58.5–⁦59.5 cm⁩⁩ high and ⁦55 cm⁩ deep, net weight 37.5 kg.

Where to install? Under the cooktop, or in a tall cabinet at eye level. In a tall cabinet it is easier to put in and take out heavy trays, and you can add a built-in microwave above. In a kitchen with an induction cooktop above the oven, make sure per the manufacturer's instructions that there is ventilation space between them.

Electricity: per the store page, the HBG7741B1 comes with a grounded plug and works on ⁦220–240⁩ volts. A separate 16 A line is recommended. If you are also connecting an induction cooktop in the same kitchen, plan the lines together with an electrician. We cover the electrical requirements in our induction cooktop guide.

Ventilation: do not close the niche completely. A pyrolytic oven gets very hot during cleaning, and per the installation instructions the cabinet needs a ventilation opening.

Delivery: a 37 kg oven takes two people. In a building without an elevator, check in advance whether carrying it up to your floor is included, and whether the price includes removing the old oven.

Tip for the carpenter: give them the installation sheet for the exact model before they cut. A niche that is ⁦2 cm⁩ too big can still be fixed; a niche that is 5 mm too small is a problem. If you are planning a new kitchen, plan the dishwasher at the same time. Built-in dishwasher dimensions are covered in a separate guide.

Which Bosch oven to choose for your kitchen?

The simple way to choose a Bosch oven is to first decide whether you need pyrolytic and Air Fry, then pick the cheapest series that gives you both.

By profile:

  • Minimum budget, using the oven once or twice a week: HBA534EB3. A reliable Bosch oven with 3D convection and EcoClean.
  • Want cheap pyrolytic: HBA571BB4 from Series 2. The difference from the basic model is small.
  • White kitchen and Air Fry: HBG536EW4 from Series 6.
  • Pyrolytic, Air Fry and 30 programs: HBG578EB3 from Series 6. The most balanced model on the list.
  • Bosch Series 8 oven: HBG7741B1, for anyone who wants 14 heating modes, 300°C and phone control.
  • Shabbat observers: the Bosch models we checked have no Shabbat mode in the spec. Check our built-in oven guide for models with approval.

Questions to ask before deciding:

  • How many times a week do you bake? If more than twice, pyrolytic saves time.
  • Do you have an air fryer today? If so, an oven with Air Fry can free up counter space, but the oven's capacity is large, and it takes longer to heat.
  • Will you use the app? If not, do not pay for Series 8 because of it.
  • How high is the oven in your kitchen? In a tall cabinet at eye level, a clear, convenient display matters more than in an oven under the cooktop.

What about other brands? If you are comparing with AEG and Electrolux ovens, see our Electrolux oven guide. There you will find models with steam baking and kashrut approval after pyrolytic. And if you are looking for a freestanding oven with a gas cooktop rather than a built-in oven, go to our freestanding range guide.

Bottom line: in most cases you do not need Bosch's most expensive model. Pyrolytic and Air Fry are already in Series 6, and pyrolytic alone is already in Series 2.

The bottom line

Width and capacity: ⁦60 cm⁩, 71 liters on most models. Official importer: BSH.
